Log On and Password Settings

You can skip this section if you don't have users that require passwords to log on.

When you click on Edit for a record that has "user name" and "password" fields you will seeGenerate New Password and when you hit generate and set user name you will see Password. Notice that a popup shows with the password Number. This prevents the password from being copied onto your computer preventing security breeches. Number # 1 points to the hidden password. This is a special field that sets and protects the user's Password. Then when you click Save and Continue you will get the following Password - display - Generate New. Notice that now you have a view button to display the password. This will popup a button which displays the set password. And you now have a button to create a new password in an emergency.

So as you can see, setting up passwords and user names is pretty straightfoward. For more on this click here: Elements 3 and here: Portals for more advanced explanations.

Only click "Next Button" if you have access to configuration files and need to know how to use them*.
