Selecting "Horizontal rule" (below) from choose new element or edit rule will bring up a screen. showing various graphical rules [#1]and settings for plain rules. This line acts as a divider between different sections of your page.

You can choose the width and the thickness [#2] (height) of the plain rule by selecting in the radio button and using the droplist to specify. Or select one of the graphics rules. Under the display of rules are some options, Horizontal Alignment, followed by and Custom description. These are described in "Counter" Topic. And last the option to save or cancel. Some examples of rules are shown below.
