According to the The Beverly Hills Fire Department, the fire started in a storage room and they were able to get it under control quickly. General Manager and television personality Chalmers Wike, 32 says, “We are so pleased that no one was injured and wish to thank the hundreds of our Beverly Hills patrons and neighbors for their calls and emails,” Wike adds, “Chin Chin became so hot it caught fire and had to temporarily close to cool down, but reopened on Friday and we are now hotter than ever.” Founder and owner Robert Mandler walked away from his law practice in 1983 to open the first Chin Chin in the fashionable Sunset Plaza of West Hollywood. It was the fulfillment of Bob’s dream to provide wonderful traditional Chinese faire, cooked to order, without MSG, in an exhibition kitchen for all to see, and served in a contemporary atmosphere. 206 South Beverly Drive, 310-248-5252BACK TO SHAPIRO
