Beverly Hills Backdrop for Don Rickles Film
By Courier Staff Writer
Cars slowed down and passerbys stopped to catch a glimpse Sunday as cameras rolled as comedian Don Rickles filmed a TV pilot called The Catch in a vacant space at 316 North Beverly Drive. Produced by Alias creator J.J. Abrams, the company filmed a scene consisting of interior dialog and someone being pushed through a window at the Beverly Drive location. Another scene called for a foot chase down Rodeo Drive. BH police were on hand to keep an eye on things but everything remained peaceful. It’s not certain at this time if the pilot, about a grandfather and grandson detective team, will ever find its way to the screen. Earlier in the week, another pilot called Second Nature starring Joely Fisher was filmed at 331 North Maple Drive in an empty space formerly occupied by DreamWorks. Movie trailers have been parked in the Beverly Hills Post Office parking lot for the eight-day shoot.
