| Rent Controlled Apts. See 3.7% IncreaseBy Courier Staff WriterBeverly Hills Building and Safety Department released information on rent stabilization guidelines under Title 4, Chapter 5 of BH Municipal Code as to annual rent increases on apartment units. There will be an annual increase of 3.7% effective in May, which must be preceded by a 30-day written notice from landlords. Since the basis for annual apartment unit rental increases will vary in the coming year, it is strongly suggested all apartment owners contact the Rent Stabilization office to receive appropriate information on the basis for apartment unit rental increases. Information regarding the computation of the percentage provided as the basis for apartment unit increases is also available. Extensive rent stabilization information, as well as rent increase information for Chapter 5 tenants, is available at www.beverlyhills.org using the drop-down shortcut menu on the home page and select “Residential Renters Issues” or by calling 310-285-1031.
