Once Upon a time,the Great South Bay supplied 70 percent of clams consumed in the United States; these days only 6 percent are taken from Long Island. Naturally, these diminishing figures have had a trendous impact on the people who make their living on the water. Their story is told in "Baymen," a documentary by Glenn Gebhard and Mario Congreve.
